Anatolian Festival

EatLA-1712

WHY For excellent Turkish dishes, from flaky borek to doner to kebabs to pilafs.

WHAT Turkish culture, history, music and dance are all celebrated at this several-day shindig in Irvine, but of course it’s the food we most love, and it’s very good. This is a high-end festival, professionally run with excellent production values for the performances, and you’ll find dozens of booths with every kind of Middle Eastern dishes—including a ton (literally) of manti, delectable and addictive little dumplings. Don’t miss the dessert pastry called kunefe, which is baked to order.

Pacifica Institute, 1019 Gayley Ave., Ste. A, 310.208.7290, anatolianfestival.org. Early May. Cash only.
