WHY Seal Beach’s legendary smokehouse and beer bar has finally crossed county lines.
WHAT Many consider Beachwood to be the region’s top beer bar, a place where the craft movement gained legs and hopheads were born. Now there’s even more Beachwood to go around with its new downtown Long Beach location. The menu remains the same—cold-smoked albacore, thoroughly tender chicken, wild game pies, beer-braised beef dips—though the space is far larger, full of smartly styled mid-century Americana. There are two dozen rotating taps (viewable, of course, via the online HopCam), but this location is also brewing its own—eight or so craft brews and occasional specials.
WHO Beachwood loyalists, knowledgeable hopheads and barbecue-loving families.
