WHY The pozole lady, the pupusa lady, the churro guy and Anna, the queen of quesadillas.
WHAT Four nights a week, about ten food carts set up in the parking lot at the corner of Breed and Cesar Chavez, and a food-lover’s fiesta ensues. Bring cash (not much) and an appetite (a big one) and wander the stands, trying whatever strikes your fancy. We’re partial to the Mexico City–style quesadillas with great fillings (including huitlacoche, sort of like a corn mushroom), barbacoa (barbecued lamb) tacos, and heavenly churros made from a homemade contraption.
