WHY L.A.’s passion for cheese spreads eastward, into a spacious gourmet shop facing Shopper’s Lane.
WHAT A solid collection of imported and domestic cheese is kept in a temperature-controlled cold room, so shoppers tell the counterfolk what they’re in the mood to sample or choose from the cheese menu. Wine and cheese tastings are held in a private room, which can be reserved for parties. And it’s not all cheese: there’s an olive bar, charcuterie, dried pasta, olive oil and fresh baguettes. We just wish we could get a closer gander at the cheese selection.
WHO Pasadena matrons, students with upscale tastes.
