Chin-Ma-Ya of Tokyo

Published: Thursday, January 28th, 2010

chin ma ya 300x225 Chin Ma Ya of TokyoWHY Brothy and flavorful ramen with lots of add-on toppings, like enoki mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts and boiled eggs.

WHAT Tucked away in the back of Weller Court, this restaurant serves some of Little Tokyo’s best ramen. There are seven different kinds of ramen, but it’s the “tan-tan men” that keeps us coming back. The noodles are chewy, and the soup is creamy, spicy, salty and nutty all at the same time. The ramen comes with ground beef and spinach, but don’t be afraid to throw on extra toppings to get a more diverse flavor. Fun-loving waiters also add to the restaurant’s lively atmosphere — they randomly offer coupons to customers and dress up on Halloween.

WHO Ramen fanatics of all ages and people who tired of the wait at nearby Daikokuya.
