WHAT This tiny burger joint may be nearly impossible to find (look for the Winchell’s on Wilshire just east of the 405), but it’s worth the effort. Longtime caterer Bill Dertouzos says he got tired of paying a fortune for top-quality burgers at fancy joints, so he opened this place. All the toppings on his $8 half-pound burger (beef, turkey or veggie) are house-made, and an order of fries (regular or sweet potato) will set you back just $2. Call ahead and your order will be ready in ten minutes, or grab one of the counter stools or ‘patio’ tables (really more of an outdoor garage) and sip free Kool-Aid while you wait.
