WHAT Silver Lake favorite Malo has spawned a bigger Downtown sister location in a cavernous and often deafeningly loud historic jewelry store. Hide out in the ’70s flashback basement lounge, or sip rare tequila in the tiny vault tasting room tucked away in back. Weekend brunch, lunch and dinner are served in the large, cacaphonous main dining room, including addictive soft chips, Malo’s signature ground beef and pickle tacos, great Mexican brunch dishes, and a perfectly balanced organic margarita.
