WHY Live jazz and updated American classic dishes in a handsome setting in the increasingly vibrant Playhouse District.
WHAT Quality jazz is at the heart of this large, handsome bistro next to the Pasadena Playhouse, but the surprise is how good the food is, too. Start with some of the cheeses and charcuterie, and consider the Wagyu beef burger—it’s sensational. The crispy brussels sprouts are also very good, as are the tender, savory short ribs. There are plenty of wines by the glass for less than $11, which we appreciate (along with the generous pours).
WHO Business lunchers by day, after-work imbibers in the early evening, and when the band starts playing, jazz buffs who come to listen, not talk.
