WHY For its celebration of street foods from around the world, it’s L.A.-hip patio and the skill and enthusiasm of owner/chef Susan Feniger.
WHAT Celebrity chef Susan Feniger (Border Grill, Ciudad, Too Hot Tamales) is a warm-hearted Midwestern gal whose culinary passions are truly global, and at her solo venture she shares all those passions, from Burmese lettuce wraps to Egyptian basbousa lime cake. After a year under its belt, Street has hit its groove, and almost everything is good: amazing slow-cooked Moscow-style eggplant, chicken soup with spoonbread dumplings, coconut Kaya toast, even a traditional Hawaiian plate lunch.
WHO Feniger’s chef pals, tattooed hard-body moms with adorable babies, and aging L.A. foodies who sport L.A. Eyeworks glasses and drive Priuses.
