WHAT Don’t be put off by the dated-looking interior of this restaurant around the corner from Ventura Boulevard. The sushi spots on Ventura may get more attention, but chef ‘Taka’ Tanaka serves up impeccably fresh sushi and sashimi as well as such classics as tempura and teriyaki. Ordering off the specials board is the best approach.

WHO Sushi fans from Sherman Oaks and Encino who would rather that their local find doesn’t get discovered.
