Worldfare Bustaurant

WHY How often do you get to try carefully made, fresh food served out of a bus with a rooftop dining deck?

WHAT No more crouching on the curb—at the Bustaurant, diners order from a window and then climb the stairs of the double decker bus to eat atop the vehicle, with a view of the streetscape. The food is several cuts above most trucks, but still reasonably priced. Try the South African specialty of Bunny Chow, with fillings like tangy short ribs or chicken curry tucked into a soft bun. Truffled mac ‘n cheese balls are a decadent side, and specials like salad with hazelnuts and blueberries or shrimp lettuce cups offer lighter choices. With bus-made drinks like strawberry-basil lemonade and dessert bunnies—think butterscotch bread pudding—the bus is more like a restaurant than a truck.
