What’s a devoted partner to do? Relax!
The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery has thoughtfully scheduled their Eat. Drink. Art. Biannual Benefit for Saturday, May 12th from 7:00 to 11:55 p.m. It’s a pre-Mother’s Day event that can’t help but delight the woman your kids call “Mom”.
Your $25 ticket gets you a 4-drink flight. At the 21+ event in the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Gallery at Barnsdall Park, local connoisseuers will guide you through tastings of beer and wine from neighboring establishments. Some of L.A.’s best gourmet food trucks — think The Border Grill, CoolHaus, and Let’s Be Frank — provide sustenance while you look at, learn about, and make art. Plus…dance to KCRW DJ Dan Wilcox!
Highlights of the art happening, which benefits “L.A.’s most important young artists”, include: “Wish I Were Here”, a pillow display and workshop re-purposing knit materials by the Yarn Bombing Los Angeles Collective; the One Grain of Sand Puppet Theater; OUT THE WINDOW: LA videos made for Metro buses; and “Studio Nudes” live drawing by Barnsdall Art Center artists. (Guests welcome to join in on the latter.)
With all that activity? You just may be able to get away with breakfast in bed….
