I’m hearing from lots of people who are frustrated that neither Amazon nor Barnes & Noble has EAT: Los Angeles in stock yet. This is the challenge of huge bureaucracies—it takes weeks for a new product to wend its way through the system. They’ll be there eventually, but please consider patronizing your local independent bookstore (Vroman’s, Skylight, Booksoup, Cook’s Library, Traveler’s Bookcase, Distant Lands, San Marino Toy & Book, Once Upon a Time, Hennessey + Ingalls, Stories, Diesel, Laguna Beach Books, Chaucer’s, etc.) or food shop (Julienne, Auntie Em’s, Clementine, Rosso Wine, Cheese Store of Beverly Hills, Cheese Store of Silverlake, Olives Gourmet Grocers, Nicole’s, etc.).
If you don’t live in the L.A. area, no problem! Simply order online from Vroman’s or Traveler’s Bookcase. Both have the book in stock and will ship within 24 hours.
Eastsiders who’d like a signed copy should stop by the Pasadena Public Library, 285 E. Walnut, on Saturday between 9 and 11 a.m.; I’ll be signing books as part of a fundraiser for Friends of the Pasadena Library (all profits go to the library). And then between 2 and 4 p.m. I’ll be signing EAT:LA at the beautiful gift store Motif, on Washington just west of Hill in Pasadena.
Thanks to everyone for their support of this book. In its first week it was the #1 nonfiction paperback at Vroman’s, and it made the Southern California Independent Booksellers bestseller list!
