Nelson’s

WHY Solid pub fare and a good bar with reasonable prices, given the oh-wow oceanfront setting.

WHAT You can hardly do better at sunset than to score an outdoor picnic table, with or without your dog, at this casual café-bar on what appears to be the westernmost tip of the United States. Named for the fictional Mike Nelson of Sea Hunt fame (it was filmed on the coves below), Nelson’s is an unpretentious place in a fancy resort, with a respectable clam chowder, a lush pulled-pork sandwich, a great kids’ menu and a swell bar. Inside are TVs for sports and windows for views; outside are teak tables, fire pits and more ocean than you can imagine.

WHO Hotel guests and a lot of PV locals, who come here to meet friends, watch a game or treat their kids.
