April may bring showers, at least this year, but it also brings grilled cheese sandwiches. Is this the sequel to “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs”?
Even better, it’s Grilled Cheese Month!
Clever Clementine is making it oh-so-easy to indulge in your fave melted fromage treats by combining comfort food with charity. This Saturday, April 14th from 7-11 p.m. at Elysian in Silverlake, you can support Food Forward while nibbling gourmet grilled cheese, quaffing beer from New Belgium Brewery, sipping wine from Jordan Winery, and sampling Clementine’s own Grapefruit Forward cocktail.
You feel comforted already.
Funny lady Beth Lapidus of Un-Cabaret fame is the Mistress of Ceremonies. Entertainment includes interactive visual environments by video artist Jesse Gilbert, tunes by DJ’s DJs Fucsia and Matt Franke, and crafts at Miss Rhea Purpose’s DIY Kraft Korner.
Because fun = alcohol + glue + sharp scissors.
There will be door prizes, an unsilent auction, and (drum roll) free valet parking!
Your ticket supports Food Forward’s mission to harvest locally grown fruit from private homes and public spaces and then distribute to local food pantries and other organizations that serve those in need.
And now you feel comforted AND virtuous….
