This weekend’s hotter-than-hot Dwell on Design at the Los Angeles Convention Center is devoting a significant amount of time and creative energy to food, and many of our favorite experts will be speaking. The food-lover’s day is Sunday, and it’s chock-full of good stuff, including panels on sustainable seafood, modern restaurant design, food and justice, and school and community. Organized and curated by Evan Kleiman, owner/chef of Angeli and host of KCRW’s Good Food, and Lesley Bargar Suter of Los Angeles magazine, the afternoon is rich with informed, interesting panelists, including our own Jenn Garbee (on the Craft Beer panel, moderated by beer sommelier Christina Perozzi), Providence’s Michael Cimarusti (on the Sustainable Seafood panel), produce co-op maven Hynden Walch (on the Feeding the City panel), and caterer/chef Jennie Cook, a leader in getting hands-on healthy-food instruction in low-income public schools (on the Social Justice panel).
