Sure, everyone eats and drinks but if you’re the kind of person who also lives, breathes, and reads all things gustatory, you’ll want to make note of the first (and subsequent) summer session of Eating Our Words: A Sustainable Evening with Kevin West and Alejandro Artigas
Poet Gabrielle Calvocoressi and gallerist Heather Taylor started the reading series, which features artists of literature and cuisine who share their passion for words, food, and adventure.
The season’s FREE inaugural event on Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. — space is limited and sign up deadline is today! — features journalist West and architect and designer Artigas talking about…What We Talk About When We Talk About Food.
Just so you’re oriented for the summer.
West, formerly with W Magazine, now produces a retail collection of jams and marmalade; his cookbook Saving the Season: A Handbook to Home Canning, Pickling and Preserving will be published in Spring 2013. Guests who like to do as well as listen will be able to participate in an online, artisanal food community curated by West.
Architect and designer Alejandro Artigas is a Sci-Arc grad who founded ARTLESS Corporation to practice architecture and furniture design.
Food will be available from The Fox Pizza Bus, Let’s Be Frank, Handsome Coffee, Dry Soda and The Institute of Domestic Technology.
It’s always good to eat food when you’re talking about talking about food.
NOTE: Space is limited and the DEADLINE to sign up is TODAY, MONDAY, MAY 21, 2012!!!!!
