•  Miles Clements reports on the “underappreciated” Holland Festival in Long Beach, which was rich with Indonesian food: Daily Dish

•  Seeing Squid Ink’s photo of the free-food fiesta at the Venice Intelligentsia opening this weekend made us really glad that we couldn’t go, given our claustrophia issues and all. But it was fun to read about it: Squid Ink.

•  Music to our cheap ears: Margy Rochlin gets advice from sommelier Dana Farmer about how to order the least expensive wines at an expensive restaurant: Squid Ink.
