Taste of the Eastside: Let the Season of Good Eating Begin

There are no snappy sayings about a grey sky start to the  month of May (although we’d opt for summer garden bounty in June).

No matter; the perfect way to put some Spring in your May Day step is to snap up tix to the second annual Taste of the Eastside taking place this Sunday, May 6th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  (VIP entrance at noon!) at Barnsdall Art Park in Los Feliz.

Picnic blankets are encouraged but not required to enhance your enjoyment of  samples, sips, and seminars from some of the Eastside’s best chefs, restaurants, and food experts.  The 30+ participants include: Elf, Little Dom’s, Good Girl Dinette,  Silver Lake Wine, Golden Road Brewery, Intelligentsia Coffee,  Evan Kleiman of KCRW’s Slow Food,  mixologist Marcos Tello of NEAT, and Jen Smith of Full Moon Pickles.

Hungry yet?

DJ Garth Trinidad of KCRW will provide the soundtrack to your leisurely Sunday afternoon, which includes activities for kids and a silent auction.  Best of all, the rain or shine fest of Silver Lake, Echo Park, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Los Feliz, and Atwater benefits local non-profits including: Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Barnsdall Art Park, SEE Los Angeles, and Rose Scharlin Nursery School.

Taste of the Eastside: a delicious way to start the merry month of May.   Now that’s a saying….
